Amentum Employee and Talent Development Specialist in Aiken, South Carolina

Responsibilities:

  • Manage/coordinate development programs individually and in groups, overseeing logistics, facilitators, and presentations.

  • Create training materials.

  • Develop and design training/development exercises and assess training strategies.

  • Oversee the weekly orientation sessions for new hires.

  • Work with department POCs to plan and schedule training and certification programs.

  • Determine the needs for training and development, including any required courses for programs involving certification, training, and licensing.

  • Take part in creating the internal talent development curriculum.

  • Act as the main point of contact for inquiries about Business Group training with corporate Learning and Development.

  • Analyze how well training or course presentations worked.

  • Supports the Business Group Human Resources Department in various functional areas linked to HR and administration.

  • Create, distribute, and monitor training modules.

  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats, including group discussions, lectures, simulations, and videos.

  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.

  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.

  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development (instructional design).

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Training and Development, or a related field required and at least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent, emphasizing education, adult learning, or teaching and learning technologies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of training and learning techniques and adult learning styles.

  • Possess solid oral presentation skills.

  • Good written communication skills, working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications, organizational skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of employees and management.

  • The position requires intermittent travel to program operations sites. Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Work Environment

Typical office and training room environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
