Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Aiken, South Carolina

Description Robert Half is looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper for a company in the Construction/Contractor industry. You will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, such as preparing financial statements, and establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity in Aiken, South Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

  • Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements

  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections

  • Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

  • Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner Requirements - Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

  • Account reconciliation experience highly desired

  • Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

  • Well-founded grasp of Credit Card Reconciliation

  • QuickBooks experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Full charge bookkeeping experience required

  • General familiarity with Multiple Vendors

  • Comprehensive knowledge of full charge bookkeeping

  • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

    • Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

  • Prior payroll experience preferred
