About the Opportunity

This is for an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The position is considered remote and can be located anywhere within the FirstEnergy service territory (OH, PA, WV, MD and NJ) but preferably Ohio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Unitization/close-out of construction work orders which involves appropriately classifying and recording the corresponding fixed asset

  • Error and kickout resolution related to work flow process and interfaces between various work management and accounting systems

  • Providing journal entry support

  • Creation/modification of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS’s) and Orders to support the FE Utility business

  • Monitoring of construction work in progress (CWIP) work orders to ensure proper and timely in servicing

  • Supporting Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control activities and coordination of support for auditors

  • Providing a high level of customer service, continuous support, and proactive involvement to leadership and peers

  • Conducting ad hoc research, analyzing data, interpreting results and assisting in implementation activities

  • Actively seeking ways to build challenges and add value within scope of assignment

  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees at all levels

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.

  • 0-2 years’ related work experience is required. Related work experience includes roles in fixed asset accounting, work order management or other positions with an understanding of electric utility infrastructure.

  • Experience in SAP, Powerplan or FERC reporting preferred.

  • Excellent analytical abilities and time management skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

  • Demonstrate a questioning attitude, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships.

  • Desire to learn and grow, work across FirstEnergy and deliver results.

  • Able to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
