    $33,760.00 - $37,136.06 Annually $1,298.46 - $1,428.31 Bi-weekly

    Position Summary

    This is a position established as Fiscal Assistant II under the Accounting Services Supervisor II – SES. Its primary purpose is to perform independent accounting work by maintaining various accounts payable records, financial reports, and utilization of financial systems. This position complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, F.S. and Chapter 60A of the Florida Administrative Code. It is housed in the Administration Building.

    The Work You Will Do

    Monitors MFMP daily to identify items received on Center. Prepares/matches invoices for goods and services on a daily basis, ensure required documentation (Purchase Orders, Receiving Reports, Contract Summary Agreements, and Invoices) is accurate and available to approve the Invoice.

    Prepare Invoice and reconcile expenditure in MFMP as assigned in accordance with Agency and Department of Financial Services Procedures-FS 215.422.

    Open the incoming mail and distribute to appropriate destinations, sort and match Purchase Orders, Receiving Reports, and Invoices. Coordinate with Purchasing, Facilities and Warehouse ensuring that the Receiving Reports are being completed.

    Distribute warrants to vendors verifying supporting documentation prior to distribution. Document paid on voucher schedule, send remit copies to vendor with warrant. Supply those vendors receiving Direct Deposit with remittance information.

    Maintain a computerized payment log on all Purchase Orders to assess balances on Purchase Orders and to capture payment history by vendor for each FY. Assist in assembling voucher each morning as needed.

    Provides assistance to vendors regarding payment status or discrepancies. Research payment and follow up as necessary.

    Perform other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience. College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience provided such education includes two courses in bookkeeping or accounting. Vocational/technical training in bookkeeping or accounting can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.

  • Preferred but not required: Experience working in MyFloridaMarketplace (MFMP), Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), Accounts Payable.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

  • Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.

  • Ability to design and implement accounting systems.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

    Direct Deposit Program

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

    Background Screening Requirement

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
