TEKsystems VOIP Technician in Albany, New York

Description:

Our client is looking to add a member to there team. This person will be responsible for and setting up hardware, phones, ensuring cables are cleaned up and neat, resetting voicemail boxes in call manager cluster, using ServiceNow as a ticketing system to respond and close tickets.

As a Telecom VOIP Technician, you will join an existing team and work with Cisco Call Manager, Avaya and NEC-centric hardware and peripherals at client locations. Provide consultation, design, installation, support, configuration/programming, MAC, update/upgrade, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of voice and fax network and system components, peripherals, and software. Provide peripheral support of ancillary telephony systems, including but not limited to Call Accounting, Call Recording, ACD. VoIP conversion, discovery, implementation, and testing.

The manager is looking for someone entry level and willing to learn. They need to have basic understanding of the network and computers and how it works, and they will be trained on Voip technologies. Consultant will be on their feet moving throughout day and be hands on with various hardware technology.

Nice to haves:

  • Work with Telephony components and systems

  • Identify and terminate phone lines

  • Install and test phone equipment

  • Identify and troubleshoot voice and fax related issues

  • Work with end users to provide excellent customer service/teamwork skill

Requirements:

Familiarity with Cisco Call Manager or Cisco CCNA training

Understating of Network components and architecture

Familiarity with programming and operation of call accounting systems

Understanding of troubleshooting voice issues, and escalate as necessary.

Understanding of VoIP and network concepts

Candidate must provide basic hand/telecommunications tools (7/16 nut driver or socket set, telecom snips, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.)

Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle.
