RENARD'S CHEESE Assistant Cheesemaker in ALGOMA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Assist Cheesemaker Cheddaring, milling, scooping and pressing cheese Remove cheese from press Adhere to all sanitation procedures and policies Ability to lift 50 pounds and on occasion 75 pounds Clean and sanitize vats, hoops, cheese press and all other cheese making equipment including buckets and bins Dress hoops Wax cheese Ability to stand for long periods of time - frequent walking and standing Climb ladders, frequent bending and reaching Assist with set up for curd and string orders Follow and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices Be a team player Become familiar with HAACP Clean and sterilize vats and factory processing areas. Cool food product batches on slabs or in water-cooled kettles. Determine mixing sequences, based on knowledge of temperature effects and of the solubility of specific ingredients. Inspect and pack the final product. Inspect vats after cleaning to ensure that fermentable residue has been removed. Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors. Place products on carts or conveyors to transfer them to the next stage of processing. Select and measure or weigh ingredients, using English or metric measures and balance scales. Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas or recipes. Turn valve controls to start equipment and to adjust operation to maintain product quality. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: This position involves constant moving, reaching, grabbing, bending and standing.
