Belle Tire Transportation Supervisor in Allen Park, Michigan

JOB SUMMARY: The Logistics Supervisor is a positive, high energy, employee-focused leadership position. This position is a key member of the Supply Chain team, reporting to the Transportation Manager that oversees the entire logistics process for the company, one of the largest tire retail chains in the U.S. This role is responsible for ensuring that our products and materials are distributed to and from our Retail Stores by our logistics team efficiently. We are looking for an individual that has a balance of day to day leadership experience, along with a continuous improvement mindset and an eye for using data to find efficiencies. This is fast paced dynamic day to day environment, and the role offers tremendous upside as we tackle transformational projects that allow us to scale this area. What You Will Do: * Review, audit and summarize daily logistics reports and share insights with Transportation Manager * Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to employees. * Help coordinate and oversee new employee training. * Help support ongoing employee performance management, career development, and staffing strategy. * Recommend cost savings and efficiency initiatives based on performance indicators, or operational efficiencies. * Help oversee logistics technology and ensure all units are operating correctly. * Responsible for overall fleet safety management. * Maintain vehicle maintenance reporting on all Leased and Company vehicles * Work with DC and Logistics analytics and insights team on coordinating data flows for KPI tracking Requirements: * 5 years of experience supervising in a logistics environment. * Experience with evolving DOT regulations, OSHA, and all related safety regulations. * Analytical experience is a plus. * Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or related field; * Advanced Excel skills are a plus. * Ability to create project plans and oversee assignments from inception to completion. * Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems. * Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality. * Ability to handle multiple activities and tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. * Ability to work in a changing environment. Working Conditions: Work hours are typically 6:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday, some additional time may be required on evenings and Saturdays.
