Western lehigh Landscaping Landscaping/Hardscaping/Mason Foreman in Allentown, Pennsylvania

The Landscape/Snow Foreman will supervise and coordinate crews to ensure well-maintained grounds, proper use of tools, and responsible allocation of resources. They will also assign tasks, train workers, and monitor performance. The Foreman is responsible for the installation and management of landscape projects from inception to completion.  The Foreman shall assist Designers with pre-install estimating and decision making, onsite layout, and efficient and precise installation and completion of each project.  The Foreman directs seasonal staff on assigned site(s) before/during/after a storm to ensure services are performed according to the contract and scope of work and are entered into our systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions. 
  • Commercial Driver's license (or to be obtained within first year of employment), reputable driving record and proficient heavy equipment operating skills. 
  • Knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications, perennials, shrubs, trees. 
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and backgrounds. 
  • Punctual, dependable, self-driven, detail orientated, good time management and professional appearance. 
  • Verbal communication skills. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Snow plowing experience.
  • Supervising experience.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Landscape/grounds maintenance industry experience.
  • Ability to operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Effective communication skills -- must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to the office and/or customers.
  • Time management skills.
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/snow practices.
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape:

  • Supervise and perform residential/commercial landscape projects from start to completion. 
  • Coordinate job activities and materials, ensure proper procedures and company policies are followed through the entire job, and drive and maintain our company work trucks and equipment. 
  • Manage and perform landscape jobs including all aspects of projects (excavation, hardscaping, planting, lighting, and audio etc.).
  • Management of the workforce of your projects (1-5 people).
  • Train crew members on best practices of installation and company standards. 
  • Communicate production goals with crew members and clients. 
  • Produce $400,000 - $600,000 in Landscape Production per year. 
  • Maintain a minimum profitability of 10% on all projects. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Daily Log sheets.
  • Supervise nightly shop closure as scheduled. 
  • Communicate and facilitate material for the following day's work schedule prior to shut down. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
