This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of cement operations of Heidelberg Materials’ cement and slag operations in the Northeast Region, which spans from Ontario to Maryland along the east coast.

What you'll get to do:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to our cement operations (Picton, ON; Nazareth, PA; Evansville, PA and Union Bridge, MD), slag operations (Camden, NJ), and Specialty Cements (Sparta, NJ and Hamburg, PA)

  • Focus on continually improving plant performance with emphasis on cost reduction and operational efficiencies.

  • Develop and manage Capital investments and actively participate in the AFE approval process.

  • Partner with Region and Corporate departments that provide support and services to the plants to increase operating and planning efficiencies.

  • Ensure compliance and champion safety and environmental programs.

  • Develop and guide direct reports and build an effective, cohesive and connected operations leadership team.

  • Champion the adoption of digital technology to optimize plant operations and maintenance.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree - Engineering discipline preferred. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive cement plant management experience.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Able to think and act strategically.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and their impact on the business.

  • Continuous improvement mindset.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and proven commitment to providing a safety-focused environment.

  • Leadership and Change Management Skills.

  • Willingness to travel.

Work Environment:

Role operates primarily in in an office setting but will also operate in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions as dictated by project requirements.

Must be able to occasionally climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces and enter confined spaces.
