Vontier New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer in Altoona, Pennsylvania

Be at the forefront of our organization’s strategic plan by becoming one of our next New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineers.

The selected candidate will be involved with the development and launch of new products from understanding the markets need through building and shipping the product. This is an excellent opportunity to display and hone the many manufacturing tools that you have acquired. You will get to work across all functions of the organization to drive turning customer wishes into customer realities.

This position will allow for many chances to deepen and expand your skillsets outside of a traditional focus as you work on multiple products with many teams in a global setting. It may lead to discovering a new, previously unexplored career path, be it in an adjacent discipline, or perhaps in another region of the world.

In this role: • Understand what problem or opportunity is being addressed for the customer • Work with the design teams to help create a design that can be manufactured with world-class quality, in a timeframe and at a cost that delights the customer • Specify, design, or create, and implement the necessary manufacturing equipment for the product • Creation and training of standard work with internal and external manufacturing operators • Aiding in setting up a robust supply chain for the product

• Proven work experience in how to build products in a lean environment • Self-learner with a strong drive to research, experiment and get hands-on with their projects • Basis of knowledge around manufacturing tools such as Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and PFMEA • Built a tool kit to help fool-proof, poke-yoke, or ensure product quality
