VCA Animal Hospitals Technician Assistant in Anchorage, Alaska

We are seeking an experienced Technician Assistant to join our team!

VCA East Anchorage is looking for a full or part time technician assistant to join our team. We have a well established Senior team of Licensed Technicians and Technician Assistants to help support you. We are a 6 doctor practice adding a seventh doctor this summer. Applicants must have minimum of six month experience as a technician assistant. On the job training is available but some veterinary experience is required. Emphasis on team approach to client service between receptionist, technical and veterinary staff. Compassionate care for all patients is a must.

The successful candidate will also be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:

  • Restrain patients for the Technician and Doctor team.

  • Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.

  • Maintain a clean facility for both patients and clients.

  • Filling prescriptions.

  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.

  • Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets.
