Cornerstone onDemand Senior Database Administrator in Andheri (East), Mumbai, India

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing and optimizing databases, specifically in MySQL or PostgreSQL and MongoDB. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in AWS cloud services, including RDS, EC2, S3, SNS, Route53, Elasticache, and demonstrate a strong knowledge of GCP services. As a DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our database systems on both AWS and GCP platforms.

In this role, you will…

  • Database Management:
  1. Design, implement, and maintain database systems in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB (DocumentDB), seamlessly integrating with GCP services.

  2. Leverage GCP services for efficient database deployment, management, and optimization.

  • Cloud Platform Expertise:
  1. Utilize both AWS and GCP cloud services for optimal database deployment and management.

  2. Implement and manage scalable and cost-effective database solutions using GCP services.

  • AWS and GCP Services Integration:
  1. Integrate databases, including MongoDB Atlas, with both AWS and GCP services for enhanced functionality.

  2. Leverage GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Memorystore, Cloud SQL, and Compute Engine for comprehensive solutions.

  • Security and Compliance:
  1. Implement and enforce security best practices for databases on both AWS and GCP, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

  2. Ensure compliance with cloud provider-specific security standards and guidelines.

  • Backup and Recovery:
  1. Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies using GCP tools, alongside existing AWS strategies.

  2. Test and document disaster recovery plans on both GCP and AWS to minimize downtime in case of system failures.

  • Performance Optimization:
  1. Optimize database performance using GCP services alongside AWS features.

  2. Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient use of GCP and AWS resources.

  • Monitoring and Alerts:
  1. Set up and maintain monitoring tools, with configured alerts to proactively address potential issues.

You’ve Got What It Takes If You Have…

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  2. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.

  3. In-depth knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, with a focus on MongoDB Atlas.

  4. Proficiency in AWS cloud services, including RDS, EC2, S3, SNS, Route53, Elasticache, and strong expertise in GCP services.

  5. Strong understanding of AWS, GCP, and MongoDB Atlas security practices, backup, and recovery strategies.

  6. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.

  7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Extra dose of awesome if you have...

  2. Experience with other database systems and technologies.
