Micross Components Senior Cost Accountant in Apopka, Florida

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of inventory and provides meaningful analysis behind variances between perpetual inventory and general ledger

  • Plan and collect data to determine costs of business components, such as raw material purchases, labor, and overhead. Recommend methods to improve use, collection, tracking and analysis of data.

  • Manages preparation and execution of quarterly/annual standard cost update

  • Review and analyze PPV. Responsible for making decisions on whether or not standards should be updated.

  • Establish and monitor overhead rates. Provide insight and analysis as to how rates are trending compared to historical/budgeted/forecasted rates.

  • Oversees and audits cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, recount decisions, assist with researching discrepancies; and reports monthly progress towards the annual cycle count plan

  • Lead month end closing process including reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, financial statement and account schedule preparation

  • Prepare budget vs actual analyses and work with department heads on variances

  • Participate in quarterly forecast and annual budget process

  • Partner with GM and site team to identify, drive and track productivity opportunities

  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive business improvements

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a business partner to the site GM and operating teams

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Person (due to export control/trusted supplier rules)

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP

  • Solid analytical skills

  • ERP systems experience

  • Bilingual-English/Spanish
