Quality Specialist R29360

This job includes overall quality process responsibility for issue prevention, nonconforming part disposition, part of a part ordering, production service call support, recovering supplier rework costs, and cross functional problem solving to minimize issue impact to production. Quality Specialists work with and provide service to internal and external customers while exhibiting a professional and cooperative attitude that develops successful solutions.

YOUR IMPACT:

Use independent judgement to assess risk, triage, escalate, and implement effective timely solutions to quality related problems with commodities that are high risk to the business. Maintain a positive, professional working relationship with all customers and be responsible for meeting customer quality expectations. Exhibit the ability to understand quality contractual requirements related to the assigned product platforms. All product quality deficiency reports must be completed on time (includes CAPA, Power Bi, etc.). Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams with part of a part and service call support to correct and prevent deficiencies on vehicles prior to customer pickup or truck shipment. Work with manufacturing and materials on disposition of defective material through transactions and credit/debit memos. Coordinate and execute quality audits internally and externally. Assist in establishing and maintaining quality work instructions and standard operating procedures. Responsible for recovering supplier quality rework costs. Anticipate, report, and respond to multiple and competing quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner. Coordinate and work cross-functionally with Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve quality related issues. Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent evaluated experience.

  • One plus years of related work experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fluid team environment while maintaining customer focus and sense of urgency.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with the use of structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Diagrams.

  • Experience with Microsoft applications such as Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows, and Word.

  • Experience with Pierce/Oshkosh systems such as JD Edwards 9.2, Reliance, and Pierce Truckbuilder.
