Position Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Delivers primary health care by assessing physical and psychosocial conditions, such as acute or chronic illness or injuries, and providing medical consultation and treatment with physician supervision. PA practice is per California Physician Assistant regulations and the delegation of service agreement between PA(s) and the supervising physician(s). NP practice is facilitated by use of a standardized procedure with a supervising physician in accordance with regulations set by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, including Licensure / Certification / Registration
For NP
Current CA RN license required AND
Current CA Nurse Practitioner License required OR
For PA
- Current CA Physician Assistant License required
NP/PA
Master's Degree required
Current DEA license required
BCLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) required
National certification required
ACLS certification preferred
CAPA Controlled Substance Certification preferred
Experience
6 months related clinical experience preferred; will vary based on department needs
Some departments require specialized certification/licensure and experience at the time of hire
Medical knowledge and skills applicable to perform within the scope of practice
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
Working knowledge of electronic health records such as EPIC, preferred
