POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting/finance activities of the US Electronic Learning Product Division. Position will further develop the team look for ways to streamline operations of the accounting/finance department as well as work well with colleagues overseas (Hong Kong).

The salary offered starts at \$200,000based on the incumbent\'s background and experience relevant to the position\'s requirements and is competitive with market compensation relative to this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITES

  • In partnership with the President and Group CFO, direct and manage VTech\'s financial strategy and outlook.
  • Oversee the Accounting close and Financial reporting of US operations, analyzing and reporting on financial performance and providing accurate and timely information to Hong Kong and Leadership Team.
  • Drive the monthly Forecast information as well as the monthly conference call presentation with Hong Kong;identify and communicate the highlights and key changes.
  • Drive the preparation of the Annual Budget; identify and communicate the highlights and key changes to Hong Kong and Leadership.
  • Oversee all internal and external audit activities for assigned entities.
  • Oversee the Accounting team and activities including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Royalties.
  • Monitor established internal control and procedures to ensure full compliance.
  • Assess and analyze opportunities for business development and operational efficiency; advise on financial impacts, outcomes, and risks.
  • Collaborate through communication and teamwork with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, and professional manner.
  • Decision making that results in appropriate outcome.
  • Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively to meet changing deadlines and priorities.

POSITION SKILLS

  • Full knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles andInternational Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Experience with Oracle/ERP is strongly desired.
  • Monthly Forecast, Annual Budget, Inventory, Financial Metrics/Statistics and Pricing experience required.
  • Must meet deadlines, occasionally under tight timelines, while maintaining accuracy and producing quality output.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with co-workers (including colleagues in Hong Kong), management, subordinates and others.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • High motivation and professional ethical standards.
  • Commitment to mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 preferred.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting and Finance
  • 7+ years of direct management experience in Accounting in a Distribution/Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods industry
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm as well as business experience, preferably in a Distribution/Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods industry preferred.
  • Must have CPA Certification.
  • Master\'s degree is desirable.
  • Ideal candidate has progressing manufacturing experience and/or distribution in a subsidiary to the parent company with experience working with teams in Hong Kong or China.
