Amazon AWS Security Compliance Specialist, Regulatory Operations in Arlington, Virginia
Description
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security is our highest priority. The Regulatory Operations team within AWS Security Assurance is responsible for demonstrating the security controls of services offered by AWS. At AWS' scale, we invent new ways to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers.
We are looking for a person motivated to take on challenges with a technical background to be part of a growing regulatory team that analyzes AWS controls and articulates compliance to regulatory agencies. As part of the team, you will be seen as an expert in how AWS control systems and processes meet security and compliance standards. You will be a key liaison with AWS service teams, infrastructure teams, AWS Security, and related Amazon corporate teams. You will have the ability to dive deep, understand, document, and communicate IT systems and processes, and be able to drive innovative process changes through multiple organizations and teams.

Key job responsibilities
Participating in regulatory relationships, examinations and responsiveness.
Lead and manage areas of examination with excellent project management skills.
Communicate to team leads on the status and key deliverables of team initiatives, seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts.
Fielding and addressing requests for team support in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Dive deep into the operations of AWS compliance programs to develop broad domain and technical understanding of regulatory and customer expectations to drive process improvement initiatives.
Operate a quality rhythm of the business for managing regulatory expectations.
A day in the life
You will interact with various levels across Amazon to manage the collection and communicate information. You will serve as a point of contact and liaison with regulators. You will lead the strategic approach to the unique expectations of the regulator(s).
You are a security expert that translates security policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations into security outcomes for Builders. We surface risks and develop effective mitigations to enable AWS Security Assurance to exceed our customers’ expectations.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related fields, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in project/program management in a technical field.
3+ years of IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with monitoring and automating security controls.
Have a record of delivery of IT process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies.
Experience in cloud technologies.
Experience in performing technical assessments and documentation of network, operating systems, application security, as well as auditing IT processes.
Have an understanding of evaluating the design and effectiveness of IT controls.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
