Our Information Exploitation (IX) group is seeking journeyman and experienced professionals for exciting technology development positions in its Arlington, VA office. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team solving complex technical challenges.

This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

What you will do

In support of chiefly DoD and Intelligence Community missions, BBN’s Information Exploitation (IX) group specializes in the development and deployment of cutting-edge third-wave AI solutions to enable the advanced machine reasoning needed for the fully autonomous trusted systems of tomorrow.

Within IX, we combine structured semantics with mathematical formalisms to enable explainable decision making, sense-making and course of action analysis in real-time.

You will support IX in end-to-end space systems architecture development and support for current and future space-based programs for DoD and IC customers. You will leverage and balance your SME experience in the space domain with senior technical software or systems engineering knowledge.

You will be work with leading scientists and engineers to utilize semantic graph technology to build modern software that leverages AI to enable Strategic Decision making and Semantic Autonomy applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

  • Current DoD or IC Top Secret security clearance. US citizenship is required

  • Strong experience designing and implementing applied research / rapid prototype space and space c2 ground systems for DoD or IC customers

  • Proficiency developing full stack software applications written in Java, Python, C++, or Javascript as either a software or systems engineer

  • Ability to work in a team environment with scientists and engineers at multiple seniority levels to derive and explain solutions to complex problems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Occasional overnight travel is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and additional experience is desired

  • Experience with Systems Engineering, particularly for space and ground systems

  • Experience working applied research and rapid prototype programs, particularly for space and space c2 ground systems

  • Interest in machine reasoning, semantic graph technologies, data analytics, or artificial intelligence technologies

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
