Description

The Corporate Controller for Ohio Tool Works (OTW) plays a critical role in partnering with the General Manager to drive financial reporting, analysis, and strategic planning for the company. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position will also maintain a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer of Hardinge Inc., providing essential insights and ensuring alignment with corporate financial standards.

Desired Background:Previous experience in roles such as business unit controller, financial analyst, or similar roles within manufacturing companies is highly desired. Experience with financial operations in businesses with revenues exceeding $10 million is preferred.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

Education:

B.S. / B.A. Degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA designation (or local country equivalent if not US) or MBA degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate finance functions in mid to large-sized businesses

  • Prior experience working for a regional or global accounting firm (Big 4) preferred

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial reporting and data analysis

  • Knowledge of US GAAP Accounting principles and proficiency in cost accounting methodologies

  • Effective communication skills to present financial information to stakeholders at various levels

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional departments and work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the General Manager in developing and implementing the strategic financial plan for the company

  • Prepare and oversee the budgeting process, including annual operating plan (AOP), working closely with departmental leads to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial and operating reporting packages for executive management review

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, including scenario analysis and forecasting.

  • Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash flow effectively to meet operational needs and financial obligations.

  • Drive analysis of customer and product profitability to optimize business performance

  • Review and manage revisions to cost accounting to ensure accuracy and relevance of costing information

  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process, ensuring timely completion and accurate reporting.

  • Work closely with tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations at local, state, and federal levels.

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed, providing financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Mentor and develop finance team members to support business objectives and foster career growth

Direct Reports:This position will have one direct report, providing leadership and guidance in carrying out finance functions effectively.
