Ohio University School of Nursing Athens Campus BSN Adjunct Faculty Academic Year 2023-2024 (POOL) in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

Ohio University School of Nursing BSN program on the Athens, OH campus is seeking applications for individuals to serve as adjunct (part-time) faculty in various capacities as need arises for the 2023-2024 academic year (August – May). This includes, but is not limited to, clinical instructors, lab instructors, and teaching assistants. These individuals will provide instruction, supervision, guidance and counsel to undergraduate nursing students in relation to BSN program objectives and includes (1) planning and supervising student learning experiences; (2) evaluating student progress; (3) recording and reporting as required by the School of Nursing.

These positions will have responsibilities that require the successful candidates to be on campus in Athens, OH or on site at clinical placement facilities located in southeast OH, central OH, and/or western WV. These positions are NOT remote teaching positions.

Those who are hired as adjunct instructors for clinical supervision of students must agree to meet the requirements of the assigned clinical facility, including, but not limited to, proof of compliance for up-to-date immunizations/vaccines, clear FBI and BCI background checks, drug screen testing, meeting lifting requirements essential for standard nursing duties (approx. 50 lbs.).

The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. If a need arises, the department will select candidates from this posting.

Minimum Qualifications:

A nursing degree of BSN or higher is required.

Minimum of two years (24 months full time equivalent) of clinical nursing experience in the United States is required.

A current unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or the eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

MSN degree is preferred.

Obstetrics RN Certification is preferred.

Advertised Salary:

Dependent on highest achieved nursing degree. Hourly rate ranges from $41/hr. to $51/hr. depending on nursing degree held.
