A Day in the Life of a Compliance Intern

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday

7:30AM to 4:30PM

Compliance Interns in the Atlanta office will assist our compliance team in crafting internal and external messaging, managing policies, conducting risk analysis, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, performing data analysis and creating dashboards, and developing presentations. This internship offers exposure to all Norfolk Southern departments and the chance to contribute significantly to our compliance program's effectiveness.

A motivated self-starter committed to learning the ins and outs of effective corporate compliance programs

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Solid interpersonal skills along with the ability to receive and grow from constructive feedback

Ability to manage time, prioritize work demands effectively, and meet deadlines without sacrificing standards of work

Ability to interact with various levels of management while being positive and professional

Education/Experience:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree

Preferred Degree Paths: Compliance, Business, Accounting, Law, Information Systems. Any major in a similar field of study will be considered

Experience with MS Office software and data analysis tools; information systems skills

Relevant audit and/or compliance coursework

Previous work experience in compliance-related roles
