Chick-fil-A Corporate Accountant II, Projects & Fixed Asset Accounting in Atlanta, Georgia
Overview
The Projects & Fixed Assets Accounting team is responsible for the financial reporting of the acquire to retire financial workstream for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and its subsidiaries. The team supports the business and project managers by accounting for and maintaining accurate financial records for all purchased capital assets and a broad range of spend for all projects across the enterprise in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
A Fixed Assets Corporate Accountant II will possess and apply a fundamental understanding of Chick-fil-A’s acquisition policies and practices and apply knowledge to distinguish between capital costs and expenses. This role requires relationships with key personnel within Financial Services to support the fixed assets function for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and its subsidiaries. The Projects Accounting and Fixed Assets team is looking for an independent, coachable, detail-oriented individual who continually seeks process improvement.

Responsibilities
This role is the primary resource for intermediate journal entry creation and transaction validation. With moderate supervision, roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for supporting the consolidated Chick-fil-A, Inc. fixed assets function under the consultation of a more senior accountant or with people leader on complex issues
Record various fixed asset transactions related to asset additions, adjustments, transfers, disposals, and depreciation in the fixed assets subledger.
Analyze, review, and validate general ledger expenditure data and invoices ensuring appropriate capital vs expense guidelines are met
Assist in monitoring the fixed asset subledger for existence and accuracy through analytics and reconciliations to operational asset system data
Responsible for tracking and reporting all closed restaurant asset activity
Support asset impairment and held for sale reporting procedures through research and documentation preparation
Participate in month end close activities and support any corporate or tax audit requests by performing reconciliations to the general ledger, researching transactions, and preparing workpapers
Create and regularly update all process documentation for job responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Must pass Chick-fil-A accounting test OR CPA (Certified Public Accountant) OR passed all four parts CPA exam
0-3 years of experience
Knowledge and understanding of Chick-fil-A’s standard suite of work solutions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Aptitude for problem solving and innovation
Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams and independently
Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple deadlines
