As aNewborn Screening and Referral Coordinatorwithin theDivision of Women, Children and Nursing Servicesat the Georgia Department of Public Health,you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

This position is funded by a federal grant and is subject to available grant funds.

Job Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: The Newborn Screening and Referral Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination of newborn screening and referral services for specific conditions and patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides support and coordination for the newborn screening program.
  • Provides technical assistance, training, monitoring, and consultation to providers, public health districts and partnering agencies.
  • Responsible for notifying medical providers about the need for repeat or additional testing for Provides ongoing coordination and monitoring to confirm completion of follow-up testing.
  • Documents client information and coordination notes into the SendSS Newborn database.
  • Assists with monitoring the Newborn Screening Inbox and continuous data collection.
  • Responsible for effective communication with other DPH Programs, public health districts, agencies, and partners.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Four years related experience
