Description

Robert Half's confidential client in Atlanta, GA are in search of a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal in the long-term contract capacity. This role involves managing immigration inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with immigration regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

Case Management

• Manage AMER shared immigration inbox to communicate with OneTrust team members and external immigration counsel regarding U.S. immigration inquiries

• Track work authorization for U.S. employees requiring sponsorship and manage NIV and IV immigration cases (H-1B, L-1, E-3, TN, PERM, I-140, I-485, EB-2 NIW), including LCA and PERM posting notices, and submitting H-1B withdrawals to USCIS for terminated employees

• Review draft petitions and serve as the authorized signatory for immigration petitions submitted to USCIS and the DOL

• Partner with Talent Acquisition to review U.S. immigration candidate assessments prior to offer for candidates requiring sponsorship

• Initiate immigration cases with external immigration counsel for new hires, employees requiring extensions or amendments, and employees beginning a company-sponsored permanent residency process

• Manage annual H-1B cap lottery process by working with external immigration counsel to determine employee eligibility, organizing an information session, collecting registration information, and business approval

• Provide and explain case updates including immigration case impact due to employee role changes or company changes

• Respond to former employee inquiries regarding experience letters for immigration processes

• Issue employment verification letters for travel purposes including visa stamp appointments abroad and for employees visiting the U.S. for business travel purposes

Compliance

• Maintain Public Access Files and PERM Audit Files in to ensure compliance with immigration regulations

• Maintain immigration approval notices in Workday for employees with company-sponsored visas and OPT/CPT documentation for employees on F-1 visas

• Provide People Services team with guidance on I-9 reverification documents as needed

Administrative

• Review monthly immigration case invoices for accuracy and submit to Accounts Payable, and track quarterly immigration spend

• Review immigration mail through online document management program

Requirements • Candidate must possess proficient knowledge of Case Management Software

• Experience in Immigration Law is essential

• Must have expert understanding of Employment-Based Immigration

• Relevant experience in the Defense Software industry is preferred

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Advanced knowledge of legal terminology and principles

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies or related field.
