Description

Emory University Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Project Coordinator fora 5-year, extramurally funded project to improve health outcomes for children and adolescents with sickle cell disease. The project is part of a quality improvement effort that centers on health education and data integration improve patient outcomes for sickle cell disease. This project focuses on both disease modifying and curative therapies and will involve collaboration between the Sickle Cell Disease and SCD-focused Blood & Marrow Transplant program teams.

The project coordinator will work closely with the SCD Program Director to oversee administrative tasks and coordinate program activities. Specific duties include:

  • Assisting the PI in the development of quarterly and annual project goals and monitoring progress toward those goals.

  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.

  • Maintaining organized project documentation and managing a shared Teams project space.

  • Working with finance to ensure that funds are allocatedand spent according to the budget and that external contractors are properly invoicing for completed work.

  • Preparing a wide range of reports and presentations forinternal and external parties, including annual progress reports to the donor.

  • Managing scheduling across different project teams (including clinical leadership, data integration/management, and health education) and external contractors and preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing materials.

  • Representing and promoting the project and assisting in the production of promotional and other written materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a project.

  • Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals.

  • Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets.

  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives.

  • Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports.

  • Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements.

  • May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) within 30 days of employment.

  • Experience in research or clinical trials related to BMT or SCD.

  • Previous administrative experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
