Geriatric RN

7pm-7am FT Night Shift

Established in 1986, the Anchor Hospital is a 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults. Located in College Park, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast through our Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient, and Tricare program for active duty and veterans.Anchor is searching for caring and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) with experience or interest in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health or addictive disease treatment for our Seniors Program. .

What Role Will You Play On the Adult Geriatric Unit?

Anchor Hospital's Adult Geriatric Unit is tailored to the needs of elderly patients, delivering comprehensive services for elderly patients with compassion and dignity. It’s not uncommon for seniors to find themselves more emotional in later years. Medical complications and extended illnesses can also play a part in anyone’s level of happiness and peace of mind. Feeling anxious or depressed for an extended period of time is not a normal part of growing old and senior patients may enter our program for a variety of reasons including mental health and addiction.

Registered Nurses (RNs) with the Geriatric unit deliver quality nursing care to elderly patients with a variety of diagnoses and play a pivotal role in the treatment planning process as well as patient and family education.

Qualifications

  • Current license to practice nursing the State of Georgia

  • Current CPR or BLS certification

  • Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 65 years+
