Position Description

Under the direction of the department laboratory manager and director, this technical position provides high complexity Histocompatibility testing, services and support to the Solid Organ and Bone Marrow Transplant programs and hospital clinics.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Biology or relevant scientific field. Basic Clinical Laboratory Skills (Pipeting, Dilutions, Concentrations, Microscopy). Working knowledge of Computer Software Systems, Databases, and Word Processing. Knowledge of basic Immunology. Multitasking Abilities. Knowledge of basic Molecular Biology principles. Certification(s): MT(ASCP) or CHT(ACHI) within 2 years of hire.

Preferred Requirements

Master's Degree: Medical Technology, Biology or relevant scientific field. 1 years or more of experience in clinical or histocompatibility laboratory. Working knowledge/experience with Molecular, DNA Sequencing, Flow Cytometry and Solid Phase Luminex platforms used for Histocompatibility testing. Working knowledge of Clinical Laboratory & HLA specific LIS systems. Knowledge of the HLA antigen system. Knowledge of Basic Immunology. CHT(ACHI).
