Provider Corrective Action Coordinator - Quality Services in Augusta, ME

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) providessupportive, preventative, protective, public health and intervention services that safeguard the public health and assist our customers in meeting their needs.

The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) within DHHS is responsible for ensuring the safety, support and well-being of adults throughout Maine.

In this position, the selected individual willsupport the Department’s and Office’s goals and objectives by monitoring quality and compliance activities, coordinating within DHHS, OADS, and other resources outside of OADS regarding corrections activities, collecting, reviewing, and assessing data from various sources, and assuring that the corrections process follows established procedures and timelines.

1. Knowledge, Skills and Certifications

Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills.

Six (6) years of education and/or professional experience in either social services casework; social services program development/delivery; and/or social services related policy/fiscal/budget administration/analysis work.

Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field, experience in conducting program compliance work, and experience with quality assurance and quality improvement development of services persons with disabilities.

2. Duties and Deliverable (Outline of specific job duties)

Specific duties required of the resource, as well as any expected deliverables, including necessary travel expectations.

Quality Services – Provider Corrective Action Coordinator tasks include:

  • Monitor quality and compliance activities throughout Disability and Brain Injury Services and other administrative units associated with quality activities within OADS.

  • Coordinate within Department and other resources outside of OADS regarding corrections activities to assure that corrective activities are coordinated with other enforcement activities.

  • Coordinate with district Quality Services staff to pick up agencies at the start of the corrective action process.

  • Work with agencies throughout the corrections process to conclusion.

  • Facilitate internal communication regarding corrective status of agencies, including communication with district staff, program staff including enrollment and HCBS, and management.

  • Collect, review, and assess data from OADS data systems, and other sources as needed, to determine compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to delivery of services.

  • Create documents throughout the corrections process to track progress and communicate with agencies in corrections

  • Assure that the corrections process follows established procedures and timelines.

  • Use Microsoft Office 365 programs, including SharePoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and other electronic tools to accurately record data.

  • Participate in initiatives as assigned to support the Department’s and Office’s goals and objectives.

  • Provide excellent customer service in conducting all work.

  • Participate in meetings as assigned.

3. Schedule

Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote.

This is a full time 40-hours per week position,telework position.

4. Other Special Requirements (Malpractice Insurance, etc.)

Successful applicants will:

· Possess or quickly develop knowledge of applicable Medicaid, MaineCare and HCBS Waiver policies and regulation, both state and federal.

· Understand Person-Centered Thinking and Planning.

· Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and customer service skills as well as excellent communication skills both written and oral.

· Work cooperatively with varied constituents, providers and stakeholder groups as well as varied levels of management which may include OADS QA waiver specialists, OADS Resource Coordinators, staff from Division of Licensing and Certification and the Office of MaineCare Services.
