About this position:

The Patrolman/Operator is responsible for assisting in the area of operations in the winter months for gas compressor stations and pipeline maintenance as well as weed spraying, line patrolling, line locating, and area operations as needed the remainder of the year.

    About this job:

  • Operation and Maintenance of Compressors and supporting equipment

  • Valve Inspections, Valve Operating, and Valve Maintenance

  • Weed Mitigation, Spraying and Mowing

  • Monitor and maintain associated equipment as necessary

  • Perform grounds maintenance in compressor yard

  • Communicate verbally and understand audible signals in emergency/safety situations

  • Respond to emergencies

  • Work overtime including participating in rotation on call schedules, working evenings and weekend shifts-in response to acute service needs

  • Complete required documentation, activity logs, etc.

  • Line Patrol for transmission pipelines. Requires walking and riding ATVs . Significant travel is required during line patrol activities

  • Adapt to technological changes as they are implemented*

  • Present training on safety, calibration, or other topics as needed*

  • Organize equipment and perform regular and preventative maintenance

  • Perform individual lifts and manipulate needed equipment weighing up to 75 pounds

  • Must live within 30 minutes of the assigned work location in Augusta, Montana

    Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

  • High school diploma is required

  • Technical college degree with mechanical or electronic focus, or similar military or industrial experience preferred

  • Knowledge and ability to operate Skid steer, and Mini Excavator

  • Operator Qualified in accordance with PHMSA Title 49 CFR, Part 192 and Subpart N

  • Required to complete NWE Gas Operator Qualification and HAZMAT programs within six months of hire

  • Knowledge of applicable codes and safety

  • Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies/procedures

  • Valid commercial driver's license and satisfactory driving record preferred; HazMat endorsement preferred
