    JOB SUMMARY

    As a member of the Finance/Admin team reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Specialist will assist in entering information into the accounting system for the preparation of the monthly financial statements for both internal and external users. This position will also ensure policies and procedures are followed.   In addition:

  • Prepare invoices according to contract specifications and post payments accordingly

  • Perform banking transactions, including wiring and transferring funds

  • Process full cycle accounts payable from coding and recording vendor invoices to processing payments in a timely manner

  • Communicates with vendors via phone or email to answer inquiries or clarify issues

  • Manage vendor files

  • Prepares deposits and records to accounting system

  • Generate 1099's

  • Identify areas of improvement in accounting processes and work with Finance team to improve effectiveness and efficiency of department

  • Assist with preparation of audit documents and tax returns

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    The position is full-time (40 Hours per week) working Monday through Friday, with some weekends or after hours work periodically during the year.  Conditions and benefits are contained in the Employee Manual.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Associate’s degree with significant coursework in accounting, business or related field.  Work experience in accounting may be substituted to meet the education requirement.

  • 1-3 years accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with automated accounting software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality and the ability to produce high quality work

  • Great Plains / MS Dynamics

  • NetSuite

  • Squareworks AP Automation
