SHI International Corp. AV Technician in Austin, Texas

The AV Technician position is responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of the AV equipment in SHI’s office locations. A typical day as an AV Technician will involve troubleshooting AV equipment, performing standard maintenance, and preparing AV equipment for other SHI teams events/conferences. Additionally, an AV tech may consult with other SHI locations to provide insight & assistance.

The position location is Austin and reports to the Facilities Specialist.

Include but not limited to:

  • Independently maintain AV in 80+ conference rooms and director offices for senior level executives, including:

  • Daily checks, updates and maintenance of AV systems, including test and evaluate performance of video conference systems, color-balance and adjust geometry of large video walls, test and troubleshoot control system functionality (may include Crestron, AMX, and other IP-based control systems), research parts, coordinate outside repairs, work with manufacturers

  • Facilitate the install of any new equipment

  • Ensure users understand proper use of equipment

  • Monitor calendar for event and meeting schedules to ensure AV requirements are ready in a timely manner

  • Provide back-up support to the NJ AV team and regional offices when needed

  • Provide AV support at offsite events

  • Respond to requests of Austin leadership in a timely manner

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience servicing video conferencing software, wireless presentation hardware, and audio/video processing equipment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal and the ability to work well with others

  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team and establish good rapport with leadership

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Audiovisual communications technology skills (Cameras, microphones, digital presentation equipment)

  • AV presentation software skills (Skype, Lync, Webex, Go to Meeting, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.)

  • Skilled in video conferencing systems (Polycom, Cisco etc.)

  • Microsoft office suite skills

  • Position requires very infrequent travel to assist other SHI Locations (<10%)

  • Extended hours are required to complete some special projects

  • Position requires the ability to move or lift up to 50lbs
