ICF is seeking a GIS Analyst in our Austin, Texas office to work on a broad range of new and ongoing assignments in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document preparation, and solutions related to compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The GIS Analyst will provide GIS support and collaborate with subject matter experts, planners, project managers, and interact with other GIS specialists to ensure that quality and timely GIS support is provided on all projects.

The typical project types may include Environmental permitting, Wind, Solar, Waters, Transportation, Mining, Historical, Archeological, and local governments. This position will perform a variety of GIS analysis, GIS data development, data management, regularly communicate project status, and complex mapping.

Software experience should include:

  • ESRI (ArcGIS Pro 3.2.0, ArcGIS 10.8.2)

  • ESRI Extensions (Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst)

  • ESRI Field Maps Application

  • Web Mapping (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise)

What you will be doing:

  • The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist will perform in developing, updating, analyzing, and managing GIS data for a wide variety of professional services.

  • Responsible for all GIS aspects on projects assigned.

  • Work closely within functional teams to deliver GIS data and GIS services to our clients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, sense of urgency, and continuous improvement.

  • Prepare high quality paper, online, and digital mapping products to meet project needs and deliverables.

  • Extract data needed from CAD data.

  • Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources.

  • Execute projections and transformations for project deliverables.

  • Support GIS system needs and requirements to implement improved work methods.

  • Create and update new and existing GIS maps and map layers and process GPS data in support of field surveys.

  • Support georeferencing Raster and Vector data

  • Maintain project specific SQL database to ensure the project data is accurate and up to date.

  • Research and interpret source data. This could include parcel data, CAD data, data collected from other data.

  • Utilizes ArcGIS Online to create and maintain feature services and web mapping applications.

  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, which would include 2 - 3 days a week in the Austin, TX office

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science, geography, environmental science or related discipline

  • 2+ years of professional experience in ESRI Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or Cartography

What we would like you to have (preferred skills):

  • Prior GPS and applicable natural science field experience

  • Master’s Preferred

  • Proficiency in managing geospatial data using SQL Server.

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop

  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$59,469.00 - $101,098.00
