Job Function

This is a remote position in the Medical Devices Digital Solutions organization. The Implementation Project Manager for Abbott’s Digital Solutions team reports to the Sr. Manager of Implementation and will be responsible for project management, customer implementation, and performance measurement of solutions and programs aimed at improving connectivity of our devices and products, simplifying the patient experience, and implementing EHR based care pathways that improve healthcare delivery efficiency across the cardiovascular disease continuum. The role will be responsible for onsite program implementations, and liaison with customer stakeholders, such as hospital administration, physicians and clinical teams, and hospital IT, as well as the Digital Solutions Consultants and Customer Success Executives to provide project execution, subject matter expertise, and customer relationship management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Up to 25% travel is required

  • In-depth understanding of the Electronic Medical Record system (e.g. Epic and Cerner)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage, summarize, and derive insights from large data sets using Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization graphs/charts)

  • Knowledge of hospital operations, Cardiology operations, cardiac medical devices, and cardiac disease management is strongly preferred

  • Responsible for on-site customer implementations:

  • Oversight of the project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, performance monitoring, and project close for each hospital customer engagement.

  • Directing project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.

  • Presenting to and educating a diverse audience, including hospital C-suite executives, physicians, IT, and cardiovascular service line administrators regarding program objectives, expected outcomes, targeted patient populations, and efficiency improvement goals.

  • Identifying critical project success factors for tracking, analysis, and reporting.

  • Leading ongoing project status meetings to ensure customer engagement and accountability.

  • Developing relationships with key customer champions, administrators, physicians, and IT to ensure program success.

  • Collecting key learnings and programs outcomes data to inform future solutions development and product improvements.

  • Responsible for managing partner relationship with 3rd party developers and vendors including:

  • Ensuring vendors are completing assigned tasks, meeting project timelines and milestones, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Providing ongoing feedback to vendors to address and resolve issues, remove barriers to success, and continually improve the product, solution, or end-user experience.

  • Responsible for continuous solutions development with the Digital Solutions team to include:

  • Incorporation of key learnings from programs and customer engagements to inform development of portfolio offerings, value proposition, customer qualification tools, and pricing models.

  • Providing subject matter expertise to inform the development of marketing and promotional materials, and internal and external educational tool and assets.

  • Work with minimal supervision on cross-functional teams and liaison with Abbott’s broader therapy teams (internal and field-based) as needed.

  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings and conference calls for the purpose of providing input and guidance on outcomes data, patient and provider user experience, value messaging, and future program strategy.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field preferred

MBA strongly preferred

  • Minimum of three years in a project management role performing project planning and customer-facing implementation

  • Experience in the healthcare field, with in-depth understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic and Cerner) is required.

  • Experience with data analysis and managing, validating, and summarizing data in Excel is required.

  • Technical knowledge of interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, HL7 CCD/CDA and FHIR interface mapping is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with design and implementation of new processes (or establishing new SOPs) is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to manage work that ensures successful project delivery to internal and external Abbott Customers.

  • Bridging communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of project requirements and project delivery.

  • Problem solving of highly complex issues, which requires critical assessment of potential impact on multiple interested parties. The candidate must be proactive in issue identification, analysis, course correction and resolution.

  • Ability to distill complex information into concise, impactful communications to both internal and external customers/stakeholders, often in a matrixed environment.

  • Relevant experience or knowledge of cardiac medical devices, with specific experience in heart failure disease management and the heart failure continuum of care is preferred

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
