IUPRAs Social Sciences/Humanities Research Associate will engage research that supports the mission of the institute. This includes working on projects that use quantitative methods to understand and assess a range of issues related to the health, safety, and well-being of African descended people in Central Texas, Texas, the United States, and/or globally. The Fellow will work on a primary research project supervised by the Director and/or Associate Director of Operations, work on their own research agenda within the issue areas above, and participate in the policy work of IUPRA. The Fellow will be part of a team that conducts original research for the purpose of informing policy primarily at local, regional, and state levels, but also at national and international levels.Working independently and with guidance from the Director, Associate Director, and collaborators:Develop and implement various Institute research plans, including making substantive contributions to Institute research projects, including developing theoretical frameworks and performing quantitative data analysis;Disseminate study finding for academic and policy audiences;Provide assistance and leadership in finding, writing, and submitting research grant applications
