They are seeking a talented and driven Assistant Controller to join their dynamic team and learn from and train under the controller to potentially promote up within a couple years. As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and assisting the Controller and CFO in various financial activities. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, review their work, and provide guidance and mentorship to support their professional development. In addition, you will be involved in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and special projects to drive strategic initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

  • Review financial statements, general ledger entries, and other accounting records to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Controller and CFO to develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar industry preferred.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
