Robert Half Medical Scheduler in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

  • Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic scheduling systems.

  • Coordinate patient schedules with healthcare providers, ensuring optimal use of time and resources.

  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails from patients, healthcare professionals, and external parties regarding appointments, inquiries, and scheduling changes.

  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility prior to scheduling appointments.

  • Communicate appointment details, instructions, and any necessary preparations to patients.

  • Maintain electronic and paper records of appointments, cancellations, and rescheduled appointments.

  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.

  • Follow up with patients to confirm appointments and provide reminders as needed.

  • Handle scheduling conflicts, cancellations, and rescheduling requests professionally and efficiently.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing their concerns, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.

  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing patient records.

  • Stay informed about office policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting or customer service role preferred.

  • Proficiency in using electronic scheduling systems and medical software.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Empathetic and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare procedures.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
