Purpose of Role

This teammate is a key member of the Internal Audit team and will report to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit Manager. They will support in the execution of the annual audit plan and support in Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance/testing activities. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic along with strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Additional key qualities include the ability to work with others to drive results. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills spanning across all levels of management. Candidates must thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment that is energetic, driven, and team-oriented.

Your Impact

• Support in audits and reviews including assessing risks; evaluating internal control design and effectiveness; documenting and assessing processes and procedures; and performing fieldwork, testing and data analysis.

• Assist in all phases of the Internal Audit process including planning, fieldwork, closeout, report writing, wrap-up and follow-up with management supervision.

• Prepare work papers and reports with a high level of technical accuracy, grammatical accuracy, and structure and within agreed upon timelines.

• Support Business Process SOX procedures including planning, testing, and reporting results.

• Maintain positive working relationships and coordinate work with internal business teams, external auditors, internal control compliance groups, and other groups, as appropriate.

• Assist with other IA projects such as the annual risk assessment, continuous monitoring, investigations, and management requests.

• Discuss audit and control issues with management; support efforts in formulating recommendations for process improvements during financial & operational audits and control gap remediation identified during SOX testing.

• Drafting clear, concise audit reports that communicate key insights and observations to functional / business personnel and executive leadership.

• Demonstrate effective teaming skills with the ability work independently as needed; leading initiation, execution and completion to finalization and reporting for key work tasks.

Qualifications

• Understanding of current auditing standards, Sarbanes-Oxley control compliance, and COSO guidelines

• Experience supporting internal audit findings and/or operational risk assessments.

• Knowledge of operational and business processes, ERP systems (preferably SAP) and/or other financial applications

• CPA or CIA preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to clearly communicate thoughts appropriately to key stakeholders.

• Interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively on a team.

• Ability to partner with cross-functional and regional management teams as well as external audit.

• 2-4 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, or related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.

  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.

Base Compensation

$76,018.00 - $104,525.30 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
