IBM Linux Kernel Development Engineer in Bangalore, India

Your Role and Responsibilities
Design and develop state of the art features for Enterprise Linux on Power. Work closely with Opensource community to upstream the features developed. Works towards the goal to ensure POWER systems objectives are optimally achieved. Interact with teams above and below the stack to ensure goals are met holistically.
As a developer, you will be working in a highly dynamic team of Linux kernel engineers. Most of these engineers are well known in Linux Kernel community. You will have a stimulating team environment that will help you learn the following -
You will learn about new IBM Power architecture, System internals, Linux kernel internals

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
8+ years of experience and Solid knowledge of the C programming language
In-depth understanding of operating systems concepts, data structures, processor architecture, and virtualization
Expertise in Linux Kernel internals and/or hypervisor technologies in Linux, including but not limited to KVM, QEMU, libvirt
Hands-on experience of architecting atleast one or more features in Linux kernel
Solid understanding and experience with the Linux kernel and related upstream development workflow
Experience with working on open source software using tools such git and associated community participation processes.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Prior exposure to opensource community work
A successful engineer in this role will be well recognized in the external and opensource communities and internally and Influence technology roadmaps.
Desire to develop career in the areas of opensource, Linux Operating Systems.
