Job Purpose

As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and Agile work environment across multiple development teams. You will set up and manage JIRA to streamline team workflows, coach teams on effective Scrum practices, and guide them in writing clear, actionable user stories and tasks. Your role will also involve removing impediments and ensuring that the Scrum framework is well understood and effectively applied across teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and optimize JIRA to support team workflow and project tracking.

  • Ensure that teams understand how to write clear, detailed, and actionable user stories and tasks, and maintain well-organized product backlogs.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) to promote team alignment and adherence to Agile principles.

  • Coach and mentor teams on Agile methodologies, focusing on improving Scrum practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Remove impediments that block team progress and foster an environment where teams can work efficiently.

  • Encourage cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing, facilitating a smooth workflow across multiple teams.

  • Track and report on team progress, using metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure project timelines are met.

  • Lead by example, promoting a positive, open, and Agile mindset within the teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master overseeing multiple development teams in a software development environment.

  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

  • Strong experience with JIRA setup, management, and coaching teams on how to use JIRA effectively.

  • Excellent coaching skills to guide teams in adopting Agile best practices

  • Ability to manage and facilitate Agile ceremonies, while creating an environment of accountability and continuous learning.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile project management tools.

  • Experience in Digital Health or healthcare-related software development is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.
