The role

What will you be doing?

Business Improvement Consultant

Basingstoke

Hybrid

2 days per week in office

What will you bring?

We are a leader in employee benefits, protecting over 2 million people, creating security and peace of mind to individuals & families.

As part of the Business Improvement team, this role is responsible for supporting our Journey Leads deliver their objectives in an efficient way through process and technology improvements. This role will partner with key stakeholders across Unum UK and be the ambassador for continual improvement. To be successful in this position you will:

  • Map business processes and identify areas for improvement to deliver a streamlined experience.

  • Propose and deliver solutions to business problems (process improvements, operating model designs, system implementations, etc.) providing challenge and insight throughout to lead and support delivery of business requirements.

  • Support Business Transformation by providing a detailed understanding of operational processes with SME insights.

  • Work collaboratively and build strong relationships.

  • Partner with the business to develop the pipeline of future change initiatives.

  • Identify and escalate key delivery and operational risks.

  • Be able to implement and drive change including demonstrated experience and knowledge of change management principles.

  • Clearly demonstrate analytical and critical thinking abilities to problem solve.

  • Ability to manage multiple pieces of work.

  • An understanding of the impact of changes in a broad business with varying degrees of appreciation for processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.

  • Ability to identify business issues and issue resolution.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Display proficient use of Microsoft office; particularly Visio, PowerPoint and Excel.

The successful Business Improvement Consultant can expect:

Previous successful applicants have been from backgrounds within process improvement and/or financial services.
