The Genesee County District Attorney's Office has an opening for an Assistant District Attorney. We are a smaller office within 30 miles of both Buffalo and Rochester. Our office employs a vertical prosecution model resulting in our attorneys handling their cases from investigation through disposition. This includes both felonies and misdemeanors, allowing the Assistant District Attorney to direct the prosecution of their felony cases from local court to Grand Jury to trial. Further, we do not use specialized bureaus, so you will gain experience in a wide variety of criminal cases. Support and training is provided and all attorneys are encouraged to discuss issues and cases with colleagues, some of whom have over 30 years experience as prosecutors. Both experienced and new attorneys are encouraged to apply. We offer a starting salary of $84,607 and $107,029 plus medical, dental and vision benefits. Our attorneys are also able to participate in and become members of the NYS and Local Retirement System and may qualify for Public Service Loan forgiveness.
