Hillside has an exciting 4H Coordinator position responsible for the overall care of our livestock. This will include the selection of appropriate feed, evaluation of animal health, vaccinations and tagging/ tattooing to meet New York State requirements and the cleanliness of the barn area, pastures and greenhouse.

Responsibilities:

• Works with recreation department to ensure that our youth have activities that provide skill development that is fun, challenging, and educational.

• Responsible for assisting staff with 4H youth projects.

• Will evaluate youth the ensure they are working with animals appropriate for their skill level.

• Will create opportunities for youth to work with 4H projects in the community.

• Provide professional expertise in the area of animal husbandry, animal care and related training.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Livestock Heath and Production, or related field, Master’s degree preferred

· 5+ years of experience

· Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and meet agency driving and insurance standards
