Job Opening: Fabrication Associate

Location:Walker, LA

Overview:We are currently seeking a Fabrication Associate to join a national distribution facility in Walker, LA. Our client, in operation since 1979, specializes in wastewater and water management equipment distribution across the continental United States.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate components and finished goods according to blueprints using mechanical equipment and hand tools.
• Understand and follow specific job duties and related instructions.
• Complete required records associated with work and specific assignments.
• Identify and address actual or potential health and safety hazards prior to performing work.
• Meet customer's quality specifications and general work requirements.
• Function effectively in various work environments within the facility.
• Maintain mental alertness to perform tasks continuously throughout the day.
• Operate a forklift proficiently.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Qualifications:

• Ability to be on one's feet during the workday, except for breaks and meal times.
• Capability to walk on concrete or gravel, maneuver over materials or tools on the floor, and perform tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, and climbing on materials or ladders up to 12 feet.
• Capacity to occasionally lift 50 to 100 pounds and consistently lift 20 to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding written work instructions, blueprints, quality plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Tolerance to ambient air temperatures throughout the year.
• Effective communication skills to convey instructions, work assignments, and safety concerns to fellow workers.
• Competence in using common hand tools such as saws, drills, grinders, wrenches, and brooms.
• Able to pass a weld test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Two years of experience in a trade such as Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, or a similar occupation.
• Technical certification in Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, or a related trade.

Schedule:Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Pay Rate:$22/hour
