Holidays and Leave –State employees receive the following paid holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Mardi Gras, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Additional holidays may be proclaimed by the Governor. State employees earn sick and annual leave which can be accumulated and saved for future use. Your accrual rate increases as your years of service increase.
Retirement –The Louisiana State Employees Retirement System (LASERS) is a qualified defined benefit pension and retirement plan under Section 401 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Qualifications
Minimum
A baccalaureate degree in accounting, business, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management, or similar fields, plus two (2) years of work experience in the field of Public Assistance.
Substitutions
Six years of full time work experience in any field may be substituted for the baccalaureate degree.
Two years of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required two (2) years of Public Assistance work experience only.
A master's degree may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours can be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or moresemester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years of full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Incorporated; the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools; the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Additional Information
Preference may be given to applicants with prior supervisory experience. Preference may be given to applicants who have extensive knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations relating to the FEMA Public Assistance program.
Applicants must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, effective conflict resolution skills, oral/written communication skills; strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills. Applicants must be available to travel occasionally including overnight travel. Applicants must be able to work 12 hour shifts and beyond for extended periods during emergencies. Must present and maintain a valid Louisiana driver’s license.

Provides management with accurate and timely status reports.
Advises the Group Lead and/or upper management on all situations as needed.
Directs resources to complete set goals and accomplish the Section’s mission.
