Liberty Paper Inc Production Technician in Becker, Minnesota

Production Technician Job Location 13500 Liberty Lane, Becker, Minnesota Hours/Shift(s): Day Shift: 12 hour rotating shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), Night Shift: 12 hour rotating shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Position Type Full-Time/Regular As the Paper Production Technician with Liberty Paper Inc., you will be responsible for performing the duties of the following roles: Inbound Warehouse Technician: operate a forklift with bale clamp Winder Operator Assistant: assist the winder operator to cut/wind paper onto cores to produce finished rolls Mill Utility: assist team members with various tasks to support paper machine operation. Proficiency is acquired through a combination of academic training and testing, and on the job training/skill demonstration. This full-time position reports directly the Production Team Leader. Our Production Technicians work 12-hour rotating shifts - nights/days/weekends (DuPont 12 schedule - 14 work days in a 28 day cycle). Hours are 7:00 am - 7:00 pm/7:00 pm - 7:00 am. Required Skills IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: Follows all work safety policies, programs and guidelines Performs work duties/activities in accordance with LPI standards and procedures for each certified skill. Maintains proficiency by performing the skill on a regular schedule Observes and monitors equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns Maintains a clean and organized work area Communicates effectively to all other team members Problem solving for continuous improvement and equipment trouble shooting Facility Committee Involvement/Community Involvement Working effectively with peers on assignments and projects Volunteers to help others with work activities as needed Takes initiative to assist Expectations for ALL LIBERTY PAPER Team Members: Trains others with the skills and knowledge gained from position Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and departmental policies Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with coworkers, contractors, leadership team, etc. Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices, and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization. Always be aware of your surroundings Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma/GED required Basic Computer Skills Mobile Equipment certification preferred, but not required Hoist and Crane operator certification preferred, but not required Demonstrated initiative and strong work habits Good oral and written communication skills and good team building skills Capability to work in an unsupervised position effectively Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Good interpersonal communication skills for advising, recommending and exchanging information Team player, problem solver, use sound judgment in decision making Good planning and organization skills ABOUT OUR COMPANY: Liberty Paper Inc. is a high technology driven paper mill that recycles old corrugated containers (OCC) into kraft liner board for new corrugated packaging.
