SUMMARY

The Assistant Maintenance Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team and sets and continually updates the maintenance team’s priorities to ensure minimal equipment downtime while always ensuring employee safety. This position is responsible for developing and implementing PM programs, managing the work order system, and evaluating work for completeness and accuracy. This position will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Production Manager on overall strategy to minimize downtime and maintenance costs and maximize production.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

  • Supervise maintenance personnel.

  • Manage the E-Maint workorder and parts storage system.

  • Work with OEMs and use experience to develop and manage a PM program starting with critical equipment.

  • Generate reports on maintenance KPIs.

  • Review and approve work orders and requests and inspect job areas as needed to identify the parts, materials, and labor required.

  • Work with the maintenance team to train on new PM procedures and ensure that completed work is accurate and complete.

  • Set daily tasks and continually update maintenance priorities to ensure minimal equipment downtime.

  • Coordinate equipment downtime and PM/repair work.

  • Assist in scheduling for all maintenance personnel.

  • Train and coach production employees in coordination with Production Manager and Supervisors

  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and manage scheduling and discipline, as necessary.

  • Manage and implement a culture focused on safety and quality.

  • Ensure quality standards are upheld across the plant and assist in managing all SQF and HACCP procedures and implementation related to maintenance personnel.

  • Assist in coordinating plant outages and outside contractors.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS :

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Trade/certification/vocational degree or equivalent preferred

  • Must have 3-5 years of maintenance experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Be flexible, reliable and well organized

  • Good verbal, reading, writing and basic math skills

  • Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.

  • Must be able to frequently lift 25 to 60 pounds

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential

  • Ability to provide flexible and adaptable work schedules

  • Knowledge of personal computer software applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
