TEKsystems Patient Access Registrar (Many Shift Options) in Bellevue, Washington

Description:

The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for delivering exemplary customer service by greeting and orienting patients and visitors to the hospital. This role involves interviewing patients to gather complete demographic and financial data, ensuring the registration process is accurate, efficient, and prompt. The specialist will collect appropriate fees, obtain necessary signatures, and inform patients and guests about hospital regulations, policies, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.

  • Conduct patient interviews to collect complete demographic and financial information.

  • Accurately and efficiently complete the registration process.

  • Collect appropriate payments and obtain necessary signatures.

  • Inform patients and guests about hospital regulations, policies, and services.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Previous experience in admission/registration or frontline customer contact in a fast-paced, high-volume business setting preferred.

  • Experience in a physician’s office or hospital setting is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interview, educate, and advise patients on hospital policies.

  • Professionalism to interact positively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge of financial requirements of insurances, HMO and PPO organizations, and state and federal programs.

  • Ability to articulate and teach patients how to access the healthcare system.

  • Intermediate typing skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
