Amazon Sr Manager, Prod Mgmt - Tech, Inventory Services in Bellevue, Washington

We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Product Mgmt Tech to own vision, planning, execution, and delivery of the inventory technology Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), which provides foundational inventory information for finance, accounting, business functions, and operations to achieve their vision. You will broadly understand the end-to-end supply chain, accounting processes, and Amazon businesses, which will be the foundation to anticipating future needs and extrapolating them into long-term business and technical strategies. You will partner with your customers and build consensus on the business and technology strategy for inventory technology PaaS. You will outline and influence the technical design at all product life cycle stages (discovery, adoption, optimization, and service evolution).

Key job responsibilities

This Sr. Manager, Prod Mgmt - Tech role is pivotal to delivering an exceptional experience for sellers, their customers, and internal teams. This leader will manage a team that develops and maintains highly scalable, highly available inventory web services and systems at the heart of our technology offerings. These services support the FBA business globally, through rapidly evolving and complex demands, dependencies on international development teams, and a high availability environment.

This leader will:

  1. Work with senior leaders in FBA to define the product strategy and roadmap

  2. Lead high-quality execution of software products against project plans and delivery commitments

  3. Build and develop a high performance product management organization by hiring, mentoring and growing a best-in-class team

  4. You create success measurements linked to financials and client experience, and set goal targets for these measurements.

  5. Work directly with software and product teams across the globe

  6. You have broad understanding of systems/technologies and apply this technical knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify

  7. You define the strategic vision and the long-term roadmap to achieve it, ensuring you are working backwards from customers and utilizing data analysis to guide you.

  8. You understand and can represent the reasons behind the architecture decisions of product/feature and consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgement to decisions.

A day in the life

You love working directly with software developers and business owners to understand their needs, propose solutions that enable developers to operate more quickly. You have a strong technical product management background and comfortable working with large, complex data sets/APIs and has the ability to cultivate relationships and earn trust with internal Amazon teams. You have the desire to understand the business scenarios our platform supports and have the aptitude to innovate for the customer and think big. You will engage and drive technical dependencies across teams to closure and ensure successful delivery.

About the team

Our team is the Inventory Authority Platform (IAP) team. We solve interesting, real-world challenges across the supply chain. We are responsible for development of systems that provide Sellers and Vendors visibility as inventory moves through the Amazon fulfillment network and reaches end customers. Our platform is pivotal to supporting Amazon's consumer business expansion, while increasing free cash flow by reducing fulfillment Cost to Serve.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of team management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver with complete independence in situations where product strategy is not yet defined

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment

  • MBA

  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
