Amazon Supply Chain Manager, AIR, Demand and Operations Planning in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon Air’s (AIR) demand and operations planning team seeks a highly motivated team-member to drive asset utilization and forecast accuracy goals. We seek an experienced, innovative, and strategic Sr. Supply Chain Manager who will be comfortable diving into complex problems. We're looking for an experienced demand planner who will work closely with data scientists and the broader AIR network to improve forecast accuracy. Furthermore, the Senior Supply Chain Manager collaborate extensively with leaders across the organization, including senior operational and functional leaders, and serve as the primary point of contact for forecasting program.

In this role you will deal with ambiguity, identify problem statements, and develop innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly analytical, and intensely detailed with a strong customer focus in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities

  • Build strong partnerships with data scientists and operational leaders to build a roadmaps to program improvement

  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream partners to further integrate the Amazon supply chain demand forecast

  • Develop an S&OP reporting and communications

  • Manage demand planning cadence for high volume events

  • Advise senior leadership on long-term decisions and structural changes to how Amazon Air forecasts demand

  • Navigate through ambiguity; manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the cross-functional processes, and delivering on commitments

About the team

The AIR Demand and Operations Planning (ADOP) team assumes three primary roles for Amazon Air and the broader AFN network.

First, ADOP manages the package flow plan for the current AIR network: adjusting connectivity to improve asset utilization, speed, cost, and DEA, 2) resolving feasibility issues from upstream or downstream partners, and 3) managing weekly building and flight capacity.

Second, the team has an S&OP role for the AIR network, providing the BB network with demand forecasts on a weekly basis.

Finally, the team leads event planning throughout the network including high volume and exception events.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • 3+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
