Primary Purpose

To assist with Manufacturing Department with the curriculum room, tool room, lab space, equipment, and student service.

Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answering basic questions that will help new manufacturing students with processes.

  • Staff the Curriculum room where supplies and books are distributed for manufacturing processes.

  • Make sample blanks, and cure material needed for projects.

  • Make sure paper and supplies are stocked.

  • Assist with proper machine usage in the labs, under the direction of the instructors.

  • Prepare instructional equipment for instructional purposes.

  • Maintain the Tool Room and equipment in good order. (i.e. tools cleaned and put away promptly, etc.)

  • Secure doors of rooms not in use.

  • Provide good customer service by providing efficient and courteous service to staff, students, and customers.

  • Remain flexible with job tasks and shift hours to maximize the effectiveness of each program.

  • Routing cleaning of floors, tables, and equipment on a daily basis.

  • Provide basic and directed support for the primary instructors in the education of students in the lab experience.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies.

  • Student should have basic mechanical aptitude, ability to perform minor clerical duties, and understand MATC policies and procedures.

    Ergonomic Requirements

  • Work is typically performed standing.

  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.

  • Able to complete the essential job functions listed above with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Must have been awarded Federal Work Study for 2022-23.

  • Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid

  • Successfully pass background check

  • Be enrolled as a student in Manufacturing Program at COCC
